Most Popular Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz has nominated Jared Kushner, former Trump White House senior adviser and Trump son-in-law, to receive a Nobel Peace Prize for his role in "negotiating four normalization deals between Israel and Arab nations known as the 'Abraham Accords.''"Dershowitz nominated Kushner and his deputy, Avi Berkow Five books have been named on the shortlist for the Alan Paton Award for non-fiction. They are: Sean Christie’s Under Nelson Mandela Boulevard: Life Among the Stowaways; Christa Kuljian’s Darwin’s Hunch: Science, Race, and the Search for Human Origins; Greg Marinovich’s Murder at Small Koppie: The Real Story of the Marikana Massacre; Dikgang Moseneke’s My Own Liberator: A Memoir; and Alan Stewart Paton was born and educated in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. He started his career by teaching at a school in Ixopo where he met and married his first wife.

️ 2021-03-26 · COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — The Norwegian Nobel Committee said Monday that there are 329 candidates — 234 individuals and 95 organizations — that were nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize by A total of ten books were shortlisted for the Alan Paton Award and the Sunday Times Fiction Prize 2014.. Naomi Meyer interviewed each of the shortlisted authors.

Their work and discoveries range from the formation of black holes and genetic scissors to efforts to combat hunger and develop new auction formats. South African writer, political activist and recipient of the 1991 Nobel Prize in Literature. Recognized as a woman "who through her magnificent epic writing has – in the words of Alfred Nobel – been of very great benefit to humanity".

Alan Paton, a native son of South Africa, was born in Pietermaritzburg, in the province of Natal, in 1903. Paton's initial career was spent teaching in schools for the sons of rich, white South Africans, But at thirty, he suffered a severe attack of enteric fever, and in the time he had to reflect upon his life, he decided that he did not want to spend his life teaching the sons of the rich. Alan Paton 1903-1988. (including the Anglican bishop of Johannesburg and Nobel Prize - winner Albert Luthule) were eventually set free, Paton could not travel outside of South Africa and was under political surveillance inside the country until his death.
